Roaring Fire Spotfire EDC Pouch Review: 4 Loadouts in One Small Pouch

Roaring Fire sent a brand new pouch into the channel, and this one has a lot of potential.

This is the Roaring Fire Spotfire EDC Pouch, a compact organizer designed to handle everyday carry gear, small tools, medical supplies, fire kit items, cards, cash, and whatever else you can creatively cram into it without making the zipper file a formal complaint.

For this video, I wanted to do more than just show the pouch empty.

So I loaded it out four different ways:

  • Fix-it kit
  • Compact tool kit
  • Bleed-stop / trauma kit
  • Fire kit

First Impressions

One thing Roaring Fire consistently does well is presentation.

The Spotfire EDC Pouch comes packaged in a soft velvet-style bag, which is a nice touch and gives the whole thing a more premium first impression.

It also includes the usual Roaring Fire bookmark and a lifetime warranty tag.

The pouch is designed in the United States, and Roaring Fire offers a lifetime warranty on their pouches and bags.

Random Squirrel Patch

The pouch shown in the video has a squirrel patch on the front.

That patch is not guaranteed with every pouch. Some shipments will receive the patch and some will not, so keep that in mind.

It is a fun little add-on, but it appears to be random.

Size and Weight

The Roaring Fire Spotfire EDC Pouch measures:

  • Height: 6.3 inches
  • Width: 4.33 inches
  • Thickness: 2.7 inches
  • Empty weight: 1.76 ounces

Those measurements are for the pouch when empty. Once loaded out, especially the way I tend to pack things, it can obviously get thicker.

Exterior Features

The exterior has several useful features for an EDC pouch this size.

  • MOLLE webbing
  • Hand-braided zipper pulls
  • Metal YKK zippers
  • Two attachment points
  • Leather accent with Roaring Fire logo
  • Large front Velcro field
  • Three exterior pockets
  • RFID-blocking pocket

The large Velcro field is perfect for patches, and the RFID-blocking pocket could work well for credit cards, an ID, or other flat items.

When the pouch is packed full, that RFID pocket becomes less useful for bulky items, but for cards it makes sense.

Interior Layout

Inside, the Spotfire has a compact but useful organization layout.

  • Mesh pocket
  • Six elastic loops
  • Large rear pocket
  • Attachment point
  • Removable coin purse / card organizer

The removable organizer includes card slots and a small YKK zippered pocket. It can be removed from the pouch when you do not need it, which gives the Spotfire more flexibility depending on the loadout.

The only thing I would personally change is the interior color. A high-visibility lining would make it easier to see smaller items inside the pouch.

Color and Material Options

The Spotfire EDC Pouch comes in two different versions:

  • Camo 1050D Cordura nylon with leather accent
  • Moss green waxed canvas

The version shown in this video is the camo Cordura model with the leather accent.

Loadout 1: Fix-It Kit

The first setup is what I would call a fix-it kit.

This loadout was inspired by something my father used to say, tongue-in-cheek: if you cannot fix it with super glue, duct tape, zip ties, or WD-40, it cannot be fixed.

So that became the basic theme of this setup.

On the outside of the pouch, I carried:

  • Zippo lighter
  • Maratac retractable utility knife

Inside the pouch, I packed:

  • Self-fusing tape
  • Gaffer’s tape
  • Duct tape
  • WD-40 pen
  • Mechanics wire
  • Paracord
  • Armada weave thread
  • Sewing kit
  • Zip ties
  • Super glue

That gives the pouch a nice mix of repair, patching, tying, cutting, binding, and quick-fix capability.

Loadout 2: Compact Tool Kit

The second setup turns the Spotfire into a compact tool kit.

On the outside, I carried:

  • Maratac retractable utility knife
  • Fenix E-Spark flashlight / power bank
  • Harbor Freight marker
  • Notebook

Inside the pouch, I packed:

  • Bit lighter
  • Klein Tools bit driver
  • Double-sided sockets
  • WORKPRO 4-inch pliers
  • Bit set
  • Ratcheting bit driver
  • Additional bits
  • Bit extension
  • Milwaukee 6-foot tape measure

This is a surprisingly capable compact tool setup for such a small pouch.

Loadout 3: Bleed-Stop / Trauma Kit

The third setup started as a small first aid kit, but it quickly leaned more toward a bleed-stop or trauma kit.

On the outside, I kept:

  • SWAT-T tourniquet
  • Fenix E-Spark flashlight
  • Utility knife

Inside the pouch, I packed:

  • Bleed Stop
  • Nasal packing / nosebleed item
  • Steri-Strips
  • Bandages
  • WoundSeal
  • Alcohol swabs
  • QuikClot
  • Compressed gauze

This is not a complete trauma kit, but it shows that the Spotfire can carry a useful amount of medical gear in a compact footprint.

Loadout 4: Fire Kit

The fourth setup is a fire kit, which feels especially appropriate given the name Spotfire.

On the outside, I carried:

  • CIVIVI Baby Banter

Inside the pouch, I packed:

  • Stormproof matches
  • Sofirn ST2 flashlight
  • Fresnel lens
  • Bic lighter
  • Ferro rod and striker
  • Waxed jute twine
  • Fire stick

The Sofirn ST2 was included a little tongue-in-cheek because it is bright enough to feel like it could start a fire on its own.

The fire kit shows another strong use case for the Spotfire, especially for camping, hiking, preparedness, or vehicle gear.

Other Possible Uses

The Spotfire has more potential than I could fully show in one video.

Beyond the four loadouts shown, this pouch could also work as:

  • General EDC pouch
  • Pen and stationery kit
  • Small hygiene kit
  • Dopp kit
  • Tech accessory pouch
  • Travel organizer
  • Emergency pouch
  • Bag insert

The sky is the limit. Use your imagination and build the pouch around your own needs.

Final Thoughts

The Roaring Fire Spotfire EDC Pouch is a compact pouch with a surprising amount of flexibility.

The size is useful, the YKK zippers are smooth, the exterior layout gives you options, and the removable organizer adds another layer of versatility.

I especially like how many different directions you can take this pouch.

It can be a fix-it kit, compact tool kit, trauma kit, fire kit, EDC pouch, hygiene kit, stationery kit, or something completely different.

Personally, I think I would keep mine loaded as a fix-it kit. That setup feels the most useful for my own carry style.

Thanks again to Roaring Fire for sending this into the channel.
