Piorama Omni 2.0 Review: The Tech Bag I Was Looking For

For the longest time, I was trying to find the perfect tech bag.

I went through laptop sleeves, pouches, backpacks, bags I had tucked away from previous reviews, thrift store finds, and even a couple of online purchases that ended up being disappointing.

Nothing really worked the way I wanted it to.

Then I finally picked up the Piorama Omni 2.0, and honestly, I should have bought it the first time I saw it.

What Is the Piorama Omni 2.0?

The Piorama Omni 2.0 is a laptop sleeve, tech bag, tech caddy, and desk organizer all rolled into one.

It is designed to carry your laptop and tech accessories, but the real magic is that it folds open and stands up as a desktop organizer. That makes it especially useful if you move between workspaces, coffee shops, meetings, vehicles, or anywhere else you need your tech setup close at hand.

Size and Materials

This version is designed for a 13-inch or 14-inch laptop. Piorama also offers a larger version for 15-inch or 16-inch laptops.

  • Fits 13-inch to 14-inch laptops
  • Dimensions: 13.75 inches long, 9.75 inches tall, and 1.5 inches thick when empty
  • Weight: 10.6 ounces empty
  • Exterior material: 600D nylon
  • Interior material: 210D polyester
  • YKK zippers

The interior has a soft, high-visibility lining that makes it easier to see what you are carrying while also helping protect your laptop and gear.

Laptop Protection

The laptop compartment has a soft, plush interior that does a good job protecting the computer inside.

I often keep this bag on the passenger seat of my truck, and it has taken a few tumbles onto the floor. So far, the laptop has survived without issue, which says a lot about how protective the sleeve section is.

Desk Caddy Mode

The standout feature of the Omni 2.0 is the way it folds into a desktop organizer.

Once opened, magnets help hold the structure together so the bag can stand upright on a desk. Instead of dumping cables, drives, chargers, and accessories all over the table, you can keep everything organized and visible.

That is the feature that really sold me.

Storage and Organization

The Omni 2.0 opens on both sides, and the two sides are almost identical except for one mesh pocket. One side has a divided mesh pocket, while the other has one longer mesh pocket.

Inside, I was able to carry:

  • Universal charging cable
  • USB hub
  • Long USB-C cable
  • Full-size mouse
  • Laptop power cable
  • Pen
  • External hard drive cable
  • Apple-style stylus
  • Travel keyboard
  • External SSD
  • Secondary phone
  • iPad Mini

For me, the full-size mouse storage was a big deal. A lot of tech bags work fine if you use tiny travel accessories, but I wanted something that would fit the mouse I actually like using. The Omni 2.0 does that.

Shoulder Strap Thoughts

The bag does come with a shoulder strap, but it did not really work for me.

It feels more like something meant for moving from a desk to a conference room rather than carrying all day as a commuter bag. I may upgrade the strap later, but for now, I usually carry the Omni inside another canvas shoulder bag.

Price and Value

The Piorama Omni 2.0 is not the cheapest tech organizer out there. At around $79.99, it is definitely a more premium purchase.

That said, I do not regret buying it at all.

It solved a specific problem for me, and it has become the tech bag I actually wanted: protective, organized, easy to use, and capable of holding the gear I really carry.

Final Thoughts

The Piorama Omni 2.0 is one of those products that does exactly what I needed it to do.

It protects my laptop, organizes my tech gear, fits a full-size mouse, and turns into a desktop caddy when I need to work.

It is not perfect, and the shoulder strap is not my favorite, but the actual organizer itself is excellent.

If you are looking for a tech bag, laptop sleeve, or desktop organizer that can handle a real everyday setup, the Piorama Omni 2.0 is absolutely worth checking out.
